Ranked among Quartile’s Top Acting.
This is the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created.
Minions & Monsters follows the established Minions formula — slapstick chaos, historical-era setting, framing device, and episodic misadventures — which earns a middling Novelty score despite the fun 1920s Hollywood backdrop. The plot is serviceable but thin, leaning heavily on visual gags and set pieces rather than narrative substance, typical of the franchise. Voice acting and comedic timing are competent and energetic as expected from this cast and studio. Cinematography is vibrant and polished 3D animation with some imaginative monster sequences, but nothing cinematically groundbreaking. The ending resolves predictably within franchise conventions, offering little surprise or emotional resonance beyond the expected.
